It was all superb.

3 minutes walk to blue line stop UIC Halsted, with trains to downtown (5 min.) and Chicago o'Hare (~40 min.). 10-15 min. foot walk to downtown, so perfect place to visit Chicago for a small price. I had a private room, shared bathroom, which was quite small (~6m²) but just for sleeping anyway. The hostel offers free and fast WIFI.
No elevator and narrow stairs make it a bit inconvenient to carry up heavy luggage. Having only one small shared men`s bathroom for the 3rd floor is a bit short during busy morning hours.

Great value for money. The staff at Parthenon Hostel were incredibly helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were always kept clean. The location was ideal, in the heart of the Greek quarter and within walking distance to Union Station and the city center. I highly recommend this hostel for budget travelers looking for a clean and comfortable stay.

After messing up my reservation, I amended to one night had to call to confirm after they stopping reply when I asked to confirmed by email! Only stayed the first night not to lose out on one nights cost, even though they apparently didn't have my reservation?!? The room itself was in need of work and there were now power sockets without pulling the light plug out which was exceptionally dangerous the socket kept coming out of the wall. This is a good place as its cheap and centrally located, but if you can stay somewhere else I would!

The location of the hostel is excellent, with easy access to public transportation and popular areas of the city. The staff has been consistently friendly and helpful, accommodating specific needs like changing bed assignments. the breakfast provided was filling, ensuring guests are satisfied in the mornings.
The hostel could improve its vegetarian and vegan options, such as offering muesli, brown bread, and dairy-milk alternatives for those with dietary restrictions.

Nothing, really nothing!
All in this hostel is very, very shabby and dirty. It stinks! The men's "bathroom" very small (even no place to hold your dry clothes) and dirty. [womens bathroom reasonble] Really too expensive for what you get! This is a one $ place. Not a good thing for Booked.net to offer a hostel like this!

The Parthenon Hostel is conveniently located near the L train and has Greek restaurants and stores nearby. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. Perfect for a family with 2 small kids!
Felt right at home, no complaints at all!

I really enjoyed the location. Close to trains & buses. Staff was very friendly & helpful. The new paint job looks wonderful. The towels smelled very clean & fresh. Plus they let me stay an extra night, no problem.

Convenient location, close to Union Station and metro. Spacious dorms and secure lockers. Friendly staff and daily cleaning. Wide range of dining options nearby. Cozy common area and well-equipped kitchen. Fresh orange juice included in breakfast.

loved the modern dining area with a view, free breakfast was a bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful. Felt safe and had a great experience. Definitely exceeded expectations compared to my previous stay in Chicago.
Uncomfortable bathrooms and toilets.

I liked the updated room and the quiet on the thrid floor. Also the deck staff were very helpful and friendly. I could walk to the attractions that I wanted to go to.
It was a bit of a climb up four floors for a 70 year old guy, but I made it ok. Would recommend an updated carpet on the stairs. Everything else was updated. Thanks.

The receptionist was a very nice girl and really helpful
During the breakfast session, staff are horrible, they stand there keep looking at you to make sure you leave soon or you clean your own stuff, very bad attitude, poor breakfast, bloody cold eggs!

I liked, that the tv was not in the room, so nobody would disturb you with the tv, when you needed/wanted to sleep. You could go to an own kitchen area and eat what and whenever you wanted to without losing any more money than you would have at home. You had your own key to the room and building. The Greek restaurant beside the hostel can serve glutenfree foods, because the owner needs to eat glutenfree. The owner is the husband of the hostel's owner.
I was allergic to something in my bed. There are two possibilities, either they washed the sheets with Arm & Hammer, which I'm allergic to and this could happen in any other hotel, too. Or they didn't change the sheets at all and there was somebody in there with a cat at home and still had hair and dander stuck on their clothes, when they went to bed.

It's cheap, but enough for sleeping few hours a night, I'll return there.
Well this is a hostel, so you might have to wait to take a shower or go to restrooms
